Following the Affordable Avionics (AfAv) workshop, the ASSC has been involved in a review of the MoD's AfAv strategy. The review identified a number of activities and work strands that potentially have an impact on the AfAv strategy, including:

	Technology Demonstrator Programmes
	Standards and interface development
	Research into the certification (re-certification) of modular safety critical software and electronic components

A draft version of the findings which provides guidance on implementing the emerging policy has been produced. It focuses on the establishment of management frameworks and the promotion of the adoption of advanced avionics architectures that are both affordable and receptive to technology insertion. Note that as the final report is restricted it will not be made publicly available via the website.
